ClarionDoor: proven cloud technologies for digital insurance distribution

Written by Roger Peverelli and Reggy de Feniks - Founders The DIA Community on May 1, 2019

ClarionDoor provides digital insurance solutions for rating, quoting, forms, and issuance to insurance organizations for all lines of business and geographies. ClarionDoor’s Digital Distribution Suite is built on cloud technologies, industry standards, an API first approach, and a software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery model, enabling businesses to quickly streamline their rate, quote, bind, and issue processes while automating distribution across all their channels and partnerships.

Most insurance companies struggle with product innovation and making those products available to their distribution channels. In most cases, it takes months to get through the analysis of one product change and if it doesn’t yield the desired results, they have to start all over again from scratch. ClarionDoor’s Digital Distribution Suite has an API-First approach which allows insurers to not only build their products more effectively, they can automate the analytic process as well as the distribution process which eliminates excessive rework.

ClarionDoor was recognized as one of the Top 10 Insurtech Startups of 2018 by Insurance CIO Outlook. The startup already does business with both the world’s largest insurers (AIG, Munich Re, AXA) and new startup insurers (Branch, Assurely). They are in production in 4 countries (US, UK, Australia and New Zealand).

API first approach
The ClarionDoor’s cloud-native Digital Distribution Suite uses an API first approach where every insurance product update is made available instantly to all distribution channels. No special coding or programming required. No infrastructure to manage. No special software to install. Just update insurance products, create the release, and deploy to production. The dynamically generated APIs for that release is all the distribution channels need to connect with product updates. ClarionDoor’s Digital Distribution Suite has enabled companies to expand partnerships and grow their business.

The ClarionDoor way makes it possible within their easy to use & easy to manage software, enabling the business to try new ideas, setup new partnerships, and keep up with the pace of innovation, all within weeks & without IT resources.

How it works
The ClarionDoor platform turns rating algorithms and/or forms logic into a suite of easy-to-use web services for rating, forms, and issuance. All of these are available with an optional, easy-to-use portal user interface for end users. External data calls to and from other systems can be configured at any point in the process. The full life cycle of business, from configuration, to testing, to release deployments, to transactional monitoring are all fully managed within the CD Admin user interface.
